Those involved in phone tapping scandal will have to go to Cherlapally jail: CM Revanth
Revanth said that his supporters had warned him that the BJP and BRS were attempting to topple the state
By Sistla Dakshina Murthy Published on 30 March 2024 3:19 AM GMTHyderabad: Lashing out at the previous KCR administration for phone tapping, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy said BRS and BJP are plotting to topple the Congress government in the state.
Revanth Reddy said the previous BRS government instilled terror in the minds of the public, and the police through phone tapping.
Revanth Reddy, who is also the Telangana Pradesh Congress (TPCC) president, was speaking at the Pradesh Executive Committee (PEC) meeting at the Gandhi Bhavan. Revanth Reddy referred to the statement of BRS working president KT Rama Raoās (KTR) admitting that phone tapping may have occurred.
During one of the election meetings, KTR said phone tapping may have occurred and officials heard a few conversations. But he didn't specify whose phones were tapped.
Investigation into phone tapping underway
āIt is an egregious act committed by the former BRS government. How could they listen to people's conversations? The police personnel who carried out their duties at the direction of the BRS government are detained. Not a single BRS leader showed support for the cops who had been arrested. An investigation is ongoing, and those implicated in phone tapping will have to go to Cherlapally jail,ā the TPCC president said.
Congress will win Mahabubnagar MLC seat with 200 votes majority
Revanth Reddy further said that his supporters had warned him that the BJP and BRS were attempting to topple the state administration and plotting to unseat the Congress in Mahabubnagar. With a majority of 200 votes, he anticipated that the Congress would win the Mahabubnagar MLC seat. "The Congress could have also won assembly seats in Alampur and Gadwal if the BJP and BRS had not colluded. The BRS and BJP have been plotting against the government,ā he said.
Revanth Reddy said that those who have worked for the party are receiving the proper acknowledgment from Congress. He added that some members have been nominated for certain posts, and more will be adjusted shortly.
Jana Jatara Sabha at Tukkuguda on April 6
TPCC president asked the party cadre to give their suggestions to the manifesto committee headed by senior leader D Sridhar Babu. Incharges for both Assembly and Parliament constituencies should be appointed to intensify the poll campaign, he added.
The party is preparing for the Jana Jatara Sabha, which will take place on April 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi premises in Tukkuguda. The main objective of the meeting was to broaden the scope of the AICC manifesto's 5 Nyay Guarantees campaign, which included pending works related to Telangana at the Centre, Revanth Reddy said.
āThe party is hopeful about winning the polls. National leadership has commended the Telangana model of government,ā Revanth said and added that a resolution was passed expressing gratitude to MLCs, advisors, Rajya Sabha members, and those appointed for nominated posts.
Bhatti objects KTR's derogatory remarks
Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu took strong objection to the derogatory remarks by KTR on Revanth Reddy government. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao is interacting with the farmers about the ongoing situations in the state. "Unlike KTR, we are not confined to social media without stepping out of our homes. The Congress is implementing 'Praja Palana' to understand the plight of the common man in the state," he said.
