Minister for Social Welfare Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy responded on the incident and directed for an inquiry

Tirupati: 100 students of Dr BR Ambedkar Gurukul School, Naidupeta taken ill; food poisoning suspected

Tirupati: As many as 100 students of Ambedkar Boys Gurukul School, Naidupeta, Tirupati were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning.

The students complained of diarrhea, vomiting, and dizziness after consuming food in the mess.




While 50 students suffered severe complications, the health condition of the rest of the students is said to be stable.

The students alleged that the school mess had been serving two-day-old food. This has resulted in stomach upset for all the students.

Minister for Social Welfare Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy ordered an inquiry into the incident. He is likely to visit the students who are currently in the hospital.
