TN students attack toll plaza staff, cars after their vehicle stopped for low FASTag balance

According to Vadamalapeta SI Ramanajaneyulu, the law students were returning home after writing their examinations. When crossing the Vadamalapeta SV Puram toll plaza, their vehicle was stopped as its FASTag did not have sufficient balance. This angered the students who damaged 4-5 cars near the toll plaza and created a ruckus.

Tirupati: Around 70 students of Tamil Nadu studying in a private college in Putturu damaged vehicles near SV Puram toll plaza. The fight began after the vehicle they were travelling in was asked to wait by the roadside as its FASTag had not been recharged.

According to Vadamalapeta SI Ramanajaneyulu, the law students were returning home after writing their examinations. When crossing the Vadamalapeta SV Puram toll plaza, their vehicle was stopped as its FASTag did not have sufficient balance. This angered the students who damaged 4-5 cars near the toll plaza and created a ruckus.

They allegedly refused to pay the toll fee in cash and attacked the toll plaza staff and later, the vehicles.

The SI said they will inquire into the situation and take action against the students.
