Torrid Tuesday: Intense heatwave conditions in TS; Adilabads Chaprala records 43.3°C

Hyderabad: Telangana saw an intense heatwave on Tuesday with maximum temperatures crossing 43°Celsius in some places. According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m on Tuesday, Chaprala in Adilabad recorded the state's highest maximum temperature of 43.3°Celsius. In Hyderabad, the highest maximum temperature of 39.6°Celsius was recorded at Patigadda in Secunderabad.




Raj, a weather enthusiast in the city, noted that temperatures in three places in the state crossed 43°Celsius – Chaprala in Adilabad (43.3°Celsius), Adilabad Urban (43.2°Celsius), and Kerameri in Komaram Bheem Asifabad (43.1°Celsius).

Meanwhile, Muddutla in Jagtial recorded 43°Celsius; Kethepalli in Wanaparthy and Mallapur in Jagtial recorded 42.9°Celsius.

In Hyderabad, too, maximum temperatures have crossed 40°Celsius. On Tuesday, Kukatpally and Bandlaguda in the city recorded the city's highest temperatures (40°Celsius).

Weather observer T. Balaji also tweeted, "Severe hot conditions in Telangana and Hyderabad will continue straight for next 5 days. Rural TS will see 43-44 degrees Celsius and Hyderabad will witness 40 to 41 degrees Celsius for the next 5 days."

Interestingly, from 8:30 a.m on 28 March to 8:30 a.m on 29 March, the state's lowest minimum temperature of 17.740°Celsius was also recorded in Adilabad, i.e., in Bazarhathnoor.
