Hyderabad: CM Revanth said that the TPCC is passing a resolution strongly condemning the illegal cases filed against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, especially the National Herald newspaper case.
He was speaking at the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working committee meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.
“It is the responsibility of all of us to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister,” CM Revanth said, addressing the gathering of party workers, cadre and senior leaders of the Congress Party.
AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan was also present at the TPCC meeting. During the meeting, the party leaders welcomed the new District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents. For the first time, AICC observers visited the field level and selected DCCs through a panel.
National Herald case
He said that the Gandhi family has sacrificed everything for the country and played a key role in the country’s independence struggle by starting the National Herald newspaper with their own assets.
The CM said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi worked to financially support the families of National Herald employees, and a board of directors was needed to revive the magazine.
“That is why the board appointed key Congress leaders like Mallikarjuna Kharge as directors and revived the magazine. Not a single rupee of this has anything to do with the government,” the CM said.
They ran the newspaper with the assets inherited from Nehru. They are harassing Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi by filing a money laundering case against them. Rahul Gandhi has taken the vote theft program across the country. They are again rushing to divert attention from the issue in the name of cases.
“We want to send a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that we will stand by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and fight to the end if necessary,” CM Revanth said.
Welfare programmes in Telangana
CM Revanth said that the State government is providing many welfare schemes to the people in the state.
“Women are expressing happiness with the distribution of Indiramma sarees. We are providing one crore sarees. It is the responsibility of the district presidents to ensure that every girl child gets a saree. The distribution should be completed by coordinating village-wise. The distribution of 65 lakh sarees in rural areas should be completed by December. As many as 35 lakh sarees should be distributed to women in urban areas in March,” CM Revanth informed the party workers and told everyone to explain to the people the work the government is doing and the welfare schemes they are providing.
“Establish a church in every village on the welfare and administration provided by the public government,” the CM said.
Economic and educational goals
We were entrusted with the state in a crisis, and we are leading it from crisis to prosperity, the CM said. “We aim to make the state a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.”
We are organising the Telangana Rising Global Summit on December 8 and 9, where we are going to unveil the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document, he said.
Speaking about the standards of education in the State, he said that the government will make Osmania University a top university with international standards.
We will hold a meeting in front of the Arts College at Osmania University on December 7 and sanction funds for the development of the university.
Industrial development
CM Revanth said they are going to move polluting industries located within the core urban region to the outer suburbs. “We are going to set up industries in the Peri Urban Region Economy (PURE) area inside the regional ring.”
We are going to develop agricultural products in the Rural Agricultural Region Economy (RARE) area outside the Regional Ring Road. We are going to set up four more airports and a dry port in Telangana, he said.
“We fought with the Centre and got the Hyderabad-Bangalore Greenfield Highway and the Bullet Train sanctioned,” the CM said.
Advice to new presidents
The CM and AICC in charge said that being a district president is a big responsibility and asked everyone to move forward by coordinating with everyone.
The party said that the procedure was done impartially since CM Revanth Reddy and the TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud did not propose anyone’s name from their own districts.
The new DCCs were told to coordinate with outgoing DCCs and take the party’s agenda forward.
The DCCs were informed about the collection of lists of candidates for local body elections in accordance with 42 per cent reservation for BCs.
The new DCCs were encouraged to go to Delhi and criticise the Centre on the issue of BC reservations and voter fraud. The Training (awareness seminar) program for new DCCs will be in January.
