In a bizarre incident, Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali received a phone call at midnight from a man inquiring about biryani.
The man reportedly called from Old City, Hyderabad sought clarity from the Home Minister regarding how long biryani hotels can stay open.
The caller asked about a post on social media that stated that biryani shops can be open till 1 am. He asked the Home Minister if it was true.

To this, the Minister replied why he was not listening to the government. The Minister also seemed to get frustrated and stated that he has multiple other things to worry about.
The caller insisted on the Minister to say if it was true or false. The caller then requested the Minister to keep the shops open only till 12 midnight.
The minister stated that the hotels will be closed at 11 pm.
Earlier, All India Majlis-E-Ittahadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) approached the city police commissioner, requesting that Biryani hotels be allowed to be open till midnight.
