TRS is now BRS: Election Commission formally approves party's name change

Following this, BRS president KCR has decided to organise a programme on 9 December to celebrate the party’s new name.

TRS is now BRS: Election Commission formally approves partys name change

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday received an official letter from the Election Commission of India approving the party's new name "Bharat Rashtra Samiti."

Following this, BRS president KCR has decided to organise a programme on 9 December to celebrate the party's new name. On this occasion, KCR will sign the official letter and send it to the Election Commission. Later, KCR will hoist the BRS flag at an inaugural ceremony.


The Chief Minister has asked the state party Executive Committee members, party district presidents, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to attend the programme at Telangana Bhavan. KCR has also asked Zilla Parishad chairmen, various Corporation chairmen, DCCB presidents, DCMS presidents, and party chiefs at be at Telangana Bhavan before noon on Friday.
