TS announces online classes for all educational institutions from 1 July

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday announced its decision to hold online classes for all categories of educational institutions from LKG to post-graduation from 1 July. The new guidelines issued by the Telangana Higher Education Department said the online classes will be telecast on Doordarshan and T-SAT.

Earlier, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had announced the reopening of all categories of education institutions from 1 July. The classes for intermediate students, including online/digital classes through Doordarshan/T-SAT, will be telecast on alternate days in order to maintain 220 working days in an academic year.

Also, junior lecturers can take classes on alternate days using online platforms like Google Meet and Zoom for students who do not come to the college. The intermediate board has asked junior colleges not to insist on mandatory 75 per cent attendance rule.

"Since there is an uncertainty with regard to the number of working days, 70 per cent syllabus may be continued for teaching as well as for Intermediate Public Examination (IPE-2022) for the time being until clarity is there from GoI/CBSE etc," the earlier guidelines stated.
