Hyderabad: Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have called for a statewide protest on 29 August at Koti. In a statement released on Sunday, Telangana VHP alleged that the state government has failed to stop anti-Hindu forces in the state.
The group was referring to the recent protests by Muslims demanding the arrest of suspended BJP MLA T. Raja Singh for making a controversial video where he made insensitive comments about Prophet Muhammed.
"We feel that the fact that we complained to the DGP about the same issues four days ago but did not respond is part of the anti-Hindu actions. So, Bajrang Dal Telangana state convener Siva Ramulu has called for the entire Hindu community to unite and organise protests against the anti-Hindu government. All activists should participate and show Hindu power," the statement read.
"The police are playing the role of spectators. Moreover, the police are provoking the Muslims and harassing the Hindus. A conspiracy is afoot to engulf the peaceful Bhagyanagara with riots," it further said.
The two Hindutva groups have demanded that immediate action be taken against MP Asaduddin Owaisi who they claim removed about 100 criminals from the police stations in the Old City. They also demanded that cases be registered against youths involved in riots.
The groups also demanded that Rashid Khan and Congress leader Feroze Khan who set fire to the Goshamahal area be arrested and punished.
"KTR who allowed the Hindu traitor Munavar to perform in Bhagyanagar before Ganesh Chaturti should be dismissed from the ministerial post," the statement read.
