TS not part of whose god is greatest competition: KTR

Hyderabad: TRS working president and MAUD minister K.T Rama Rao said Telangana is not in the "whose god is greatest competition like Kaun Banega Crorepati." He indirectly criticised the leaders who are creating religious hatred in the country and state and asked, "Which god has asked people die for him?"

Launching an attack against the BJP, KTR said those who have failed to deliver in their governance are now raking up "Halal, Hijab and Munwar Faruqui" controversies to divert people's attention as they don't have answers on the development of the country and bettering people's lives.

"Which god said go and fight against each other? Did Krishna ask? Did Rama ask? Did Jesus Christ ask? Did Allah ask?… Did god start a competition on whose god is greatest and asked people to kill each other?" he questioned.

He further asked, "Does a competition on whose mother is the greatest make sense? Whose mother is the greatest? Whose god is the greatest? Can you find answers to these questions? Is there a chance?"

KTR added, "At a time when so many people are deprived of food and water and society is plagued with several issues, is it right to have such petty fights in the name of religion? Shame on us."

He also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's jibe at "freebie culture" and said the so-called freebies were necessary for a "Third world" country like India. "Unrest among poor may lead to Naxalism…They need to be taken care of…This should be understood by the upper middle class. Rich and upper middle class should realise that they can be safe only when the marginalised sections are peaceful," KTR added.

Ministers KTR and Sabita Indra Reddy released study material for competitive exams at Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad.
