Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on the occasion of Children's Day 2021 announced that all kids up to the age of 15 can travel for free on any TSRTC bus across Telangana on 14 November.
In a statement, the TSRTC said its chairman Baji Reddy Goverdhan and MD V.C Sajjanar had taken a "historic decision" to provide free travel in all TSRTC buses to all children below the age of 15 years on Sunday. It is a gift on the occasion of Children's Day, it said.
Earlier, TSRTC launched a unique initiative to present mementos to newly-married couples who hire their buses for marriages. Launched by TSRTC managing director V.C Sajjanar, the initiative includes presenting the couple with a photo frame on behalf of the corporation.
TSRTC had requested the public to book their vehicles for functions, marriage ceremonies, and other programmes. On Thursday, 475 buses were booked by marriage parties. About 2,000 buses have been booked during the last 15 days.
Whenever a family hires buses for marriages, the driver is assigned the job of presenting a memento to the newly-married couple on behalf of TSRTC management. This initiative has come as a morale booster for drivers who are the corporations' brand ambassadors.
