Hyderabad: Do you know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cricketer Virat Kohli, actor Shah Rukh Khan, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telugu actors Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu are some of the most talked about Indian accounts on Twitter this year?

According to Tweet Blinder, a Twitter Analytics page, ten Indian accounts were most talked about from January to June 2023.

Most talked about Indian accounts:

The list includes Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Cricketer MS Dhoni, Actor Vijay, politicians, actors, and sportspersons.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tops the list. The majority of the people talk about and retweet his stories. Being much active on Twitter, he regularly posts updates on current developments.




Accounts of Rahul Gandhi and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan have been most talked about vis political developments. Be it slamming the government or attending public meetings, they got good attention from the users.

Most tweeted hashtags

Hashtags play the most important role on Twitter. Users use a maximum number of hashtags highlighting their Twitter story. These tags are primarily trending.

Analysis by Twitter Blinder says some of the top ten hashtags include #IPL2023, #MsDhoni #Adipurush, #Whistlepodu, #Leo, and #Pathaan.




The first half of the year had some of the much-awaited movie releases. One of them was Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. No doubt IPL 2023 became people's most favourite this year with Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni winning the IPL 2023 trophy, beating Gujarat Titans.



Most tweeted music artists

From playlists to timelines, the top five artists on Twitter include Arjith Singh, Anirudh, AR Rehman, BTS brand, and Jubin Nautiyal.




Most tweeted Indian movies

From Adipurush starring Prabhas to the upcoming Suriya film Kanguva, many Indian films were trending this year. The list includes movies that were released and upcoming films.

Leo starring Vijay, Pawan Kalyan's OG, Suriya's Kanguva, SRK's Jawan, and Allur Arjun's Pushpa-2 are the most awaited movies. Teasers, posters, and the introduction of characters thrill the audiences.




Most tweeted Hindi movies

Hindi movies always have a huge fan base and this year it was much higher. Adipurush, Pathaan, Animal, Jawan, and The Kerala Story have been most tweeted.




The Kerala Story--a new film that claims to tell the story of Hindu and Christian women who were lured into joining the Islamic State (IS) group stirred a huge controversy in India. Set in the southern state of Kerala, the film has been criticized by many opposition politicians. It has however received support from leaders of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some party members have also hosted screenings and distributed free tickets.

Most tweeted Bollywood actors

SRK, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Ranbir Kapoor are the most trending Bollywood actors on Twitter.

While Salmaan and SRK are trending with their new films, Amitabh Bachchan is going to be the face of the most awaited film Project K. He is also joining hands with Superstar Rajinikanth after 32 years.




Amitabh Bachchan has now begun preparing for the 15th edition of the popular quiz game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC). The 80-year-old actor, who has served as the host of the reality show since its inception except for one season keeps sharing updates on Twitter.

Most tweets about Indian athletes

Data shows users tweeted more about Indian athletes, and the list has Kohli, Dhoni, Sakshi Malik, Smriti Mandhana, and PV Sindhu.




India's top wrestler and Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi Malik was trending on Twitter after the wrestlers protested against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly sexually harassing women wrestlers. Sakshi Malik, who was the face of the protest took to Twitter to explain their issues and concerns about the protest.
