Video : Vizag woman officer barges into office meeting, throws sand at Deputy Commissioner

Visakhapatnam,: A woman Assistant Commissioner walked into Deputy Commissioner's chamber and threw a fistful of sand at him in Vizag city. The incident was caught on CCTV camera.

Deputy Commissioner V Pushpavardhan was in the middle of discussions with three officials of the department when Assistant Commissioner Shanthi barged into his chamber and hurled sand at him. She also scolded him for allegedly mentally harassing her.

It may be recalled that Pushpavardhan was transferred to Vizag a few weeks ago. He is currently in-charge Deputy Commissioner. Recently he suspended EO Srinivasa Raju of Yernimamba temple following complaints of irregularities in the counting of Hundi collections. Assistant Commissioner Shanthi was miffed over the suspension of the EO.

Talking to newsmen, Pushpavardhan claimed that he had assumed charge only about a month ago and has no differences with Shanthi. He also dismissed the allegations of Shanthi. He said he was clueless as to what prompted Shanthi to behave in such a manner. He said that he would bring the issue to the notice of the government and the police.

Assistant Commissioner Shanthi alleged that Pushpavardhan was harassing her mentally for the past one month and broke down before the media. Pushpavardhan has written to the Commissioner of the Endowment Department seeking action against Shanthi. However, Shanthi said she will approach the police and lodge a complaint against the DC for harassment
