Vizag: Hundreds gather outside Pawan Kalyans hotel after police deny rally permission

Visakhapatnam: Hundreds of people are camping outside the hotel in solidarity with Jana Chief president Pawan Kalyan after he was denied permission to hold a rally in the city. Tension has gripped the Novotel Beach area, where Jana Chief president Pawan Kalyan is staying.

This follows the Visakhapatnam Police's decision to deny permission to actor turned politician for holding a rally in the city. Hundreds of people, especially women, along with their children are camping outside the hotel where Pawan Kalyan is staying.

Pawan Kalyan received the notice from Visakhapatnam Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) Harshita Chandra after his supporters allegedly attacked ministers, civilians, and police officials at the local airport.

"A thought just crossed my mind, Am I allowed to go for an evening walk on RK beach to take some fresh air?" he tweeted.

His tweets evoked sharp reaction with his fans slamming the Andhra Pradesh government and the police.

Tension in morning

On Monday morning, women supporters were taken into custody when they tried to stage a protest demonstration against the government outside the hotel. They were whisked away by police in an auto rickshaw

Police produced 71 members of Jana Sena before the magistrate. Sixty-one of them were released on bail, while 9 were sent to remand till 28 October. Three members are absconding. Pawan Kalyan decided to leave the city only after the release of his supporters. According to the Jana Sena party members, Pawan Kalyan is likely to announce his plan by the afternoon.
