A vote for Congress is a vote for BRS, says Smriti Irani in BJP’s tour of Telangana
Irani thanked the Narendra Modi-led government for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill
By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Oct 2023 1:11 PM GMTHyderabad: To defeat the ‘30 per cent commission’ KCR-led BRS government, Union minister Smriti Z Irani asked Telangana voters to choose BJP in the coming elections.
“Just like how the BJP ousted Rahul Gandhi from Amethi, BRS will be ousted from Telangana. The Congress party leaders once elected to power will switch to BRS. Any vote to the Congress party is a vote for BRS,” Smriti Z Irani said, addressing a crowd during the ‘Naari Shakti Vandan Mahila Sammelan’ in Dubbaka Assembly constituency on Friday.
‘BRS MLAs involved in corruption’
Accusing chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao of corruption in the Dalit Bandu scheme, the Union minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs said that ‘all BRS MLAs have taken 30 per cent commission in the welfare schemes.’
Irani said that BRS came to power in the name of Neellu, Nidhulu and Niyamakalu (water, funds and jobs) but KCR has cheated the Telangana people on all fronts.
She said, “In Neelu, there are still 60 per cent of people who are unable to get water. Kaleshwaram might have been completed with Rs 40,000 crores but there is still no water for all. In the case of Nidhulu, the surplus state has a debt of Rs 5 lakh crores and the funds have gone to the family. In Niyamakalu, KCR’s family members became employed while the youth were cheated.”
Later in her speech, Irani lists the funds spent by the BJP-led Centre:
- Rs 27,000 crores spent on MSP for paddy
- Rs 1,07,000 crores spent on procurement of cotton and paddy in last 10 years
- Implemented Kisan Samman Yojana for Rs 35 lakh farmers who received Rs 9,000 crores
- Established Ramagundam Fertiliser factory at Rs 6,000 crores
Women’s Reservation Bill
Irani thanked the Narendra Modi-led government for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill and said that women must be active in every sphere of life.
In a two-day visit to the state, Irani addressed a women’s gathering in Dubbaka on Friday. On Thursday, she was in Hyderabad addressing the gathering of the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).
