Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh police rescuing puppies from a flood-affected area in the NTR district is one of the cutest videos currently viral on social media.

While the floods have created havoc for humans, many animals were also severely affected. There were incidents when dogs lost lives, got swept away in floods and some were trapped in small dry areas waiting for help.

One such incident was witnessed in the NTR district in Andhra Pradesh. On July 28, NTR district commissioner of police Kanthi Rana Tata and his team, who were on rescue operations in a flood-prone area, observed a dog running behind police vehicles and officials, seeking help.

According to the NTR police, it was a mother dog crying out loud for help to rescue its pups from a flood-hit area. The puppies were trapped in a house. Realising that the dog was asking for help, they managed to trace her puppies and rescue them.

A video shared by NTR police on Twitter showed how three cops rescued the two stranded puppies and reunited them with their mother. The video showed an eager mother waiting while the cops waded through the flood water and saved her puppies. The dog, after the rescue, was seen thanking the policemen in its own way.

In another incident, police officials helped students attend an exam on a crane crossing knee-deep flood water. The highway near Nandigama in the NTR district was marooned by overflowing flood water. Surrounding villages are completely drowned and road communication was cut off with knee-deep water flooding the highway. Students requested the Nandigama police to help them attend their semester exam.

The police arranged a crane to cross the overflowing highway and drop the students at the exam centre. The police also helped the students get back home after the exam. DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy appreciated the good work done by the cops.
