1) A serious fire accident occurred in Secunderabad Club Main Building, No. 220 in the ground and two-storied building, with a height of 14 metres in Secunderabad at 3 am on January 16.

2) The Fire Control Room received a call at 3:15 am and immediately a fire vehicle from the Fire Station in Secunderabad rushed to the spot.

3) On ascertaining the intensity of the fire, immediately water bowsers from Secunderabad Fire station were called for assistance.

4) In the building, mostly built with wood, the fire was rapidly spreading. So a multi-purpose tender from the fire station in Cantonment was rushed to the spot.

5) As the Fire was spreading in all directions of the building and to meet the water scarcity, further water-cum-foam tender from the fire station, snorkel, water tender from the fire station in Moula Ali, water bowser from Secretariat, and multi-purpose tender from Secretariat were also brought.

6) The internal staircase of the building, made of wood was completely destroyed in fire hence the fire fighting operations were done from the external staircase but the external staircase didn't have access to the first and second floors of the building. So, with great difficulty, the firefighters doused the fire from the windows of the first and second floors.

8) The cause of the fire is under investigation and the loss of property is under assessment.

9) As per the statement issued by the club, the areas which have suffered damage are Colonnade Bar, Billiards Room, Ball Room upstairs, Main Reception and staircase leading to first floor. However, the Main Club shall remain closed till further notice.

10) The club informed that all staff and members are safe. Fortunately, all data and documents which are digitised are also safe.
