Who is IRS Dinesh Paruchuri, the new ED- Additional Director Hyderabad

Hyderabad : Abhishek Goyal - Joint Director-Enforcement Directorate- Hyderabad who investigated many high profile cases including the Tollywood drug scandal to the recent Chikoti Praveen Casino case, has been transferred out and posted in Mumbai Zone-II. Following his transfer, IRS officer Dinesh Paruchuri - has been posted as Additional Director - Hyderabad.

An official communication released by the Enforcement Directorate on August 10th, 2022 read, " Appointed Dinesh Paruchuri as Additional Director on deputation basis in the Directorate. Accordingly, consequent to his joining, the following transfer and postings in the grade of Additional / Joint Directors are hereby ordered with immediate effect and until further orders.

The order further said, " Notwithstanding above, the officers shall continue to supervise, investigate the cases, if any pertaining to Coal block allocation assigned to them as directed by the Supreme Court. Further, if any of the above officer's name is included in any Court Monitored committee SIT, then he/she shall also continue to look after that particular case/matter, after joining his/her new place of posting.

Who is Dinesh Paruchuri?

The 2009 Indian Revenue Service Officer Dinesh Paruchuri was inducted into the Enforcement Directorate, as Additional Director on deputation basis on 31st July 2022. The appointment is for a period of four years.

Earlier, he served in Andhra Pradesh as the Joint Director of TRANSCO and served in various capacities in the Income Tax department in Hyderabad and Mumbai. It is pertinent to note that, the transfers have happen at the time when the ED directorate sleuths in Hyderabad are probing several high profile cases including the Tollywood drug case, ESI Scam, Karvy Stock market fraud, Loan App case and the lastest Chikoti Praveen's casino case.
