Sitaramanjaneyulu is a 1992-batch IPS officer and Kanthi Rana Tata is 2004 batch IPSofficer.
ECI was not happy with Andhra Pradesh police after the stone pelting on Jagan, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at Gajuwaka, and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan at Tenali,
ECI also questioned why the police allowed YS Jagan to climb atop the bus for campaigning. It was also not happy with the snapping of the electricity supply along the bus yatra route.
ECI also took cognizance of the letter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Andhra Pradesh unit president Daggubati Purandeswari and other opposition party leaders in response to the actions of a few IPS officers in the state.
Purandeswari, in her letter, drew attention to the security lapses that occurred on March 17 at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting in Chilakaluripet.
AP BJP chief said that Intelligence DG P Sitaramanjaneyulu caused difficulties by setting up checkpoints at several locations, making it difficult for TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP workers to reach Modi's public gathering.
She even held Sitaramanjaneyulu accountable for the unlawful detention of opposition party leaders and for misusing powers to intimidate them during the previous three years.
About the actions of Vijayawada Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata, Purandeswari alleged that the IPS officer was working on behalf of the YSRCP administration and was instrumental in getting the opposition party leaders arrested after receiving orders from the chief minister.
In addition, the BJP leaders also appealed to the ECI about Rana's dismissal, accusing him of being responsible for the April 13 stone-pelting of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his bus yatra in Vijayawada.
