Wife plots husband’s murder with lover weeks after wedding in Gadwal
Gadwal/Nandyal: A 32-year-old man from Gadwal was found murdered just over a month after his wedding.
The police have arrested five individuals, including his wife and her alleged romantic partner, in connection with the crime that has sent shockwaves across both Telugu States.
Victim goes missing, body found in canal
Tejeshwar, a private land surveyor and dance master. He was a resident of Raja Veedhi in Gadwal, went missing on the evening of June 17 after leaving home in a car. A missing person’s complaint was lodged by his family the next day.
After combing through CCTV footage from multiple locations, police traced the vehicle’s route and made a grim discovery on June 21, Tejeshwar’s decomposed body was found in the HNSS canal near Sugalimetta in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh.
Wife and hired killers involved
Following the investigation, Kurnool police arrested three men identified as Nagesh, Parashuram and Raju, who confessed to murdering Tejeshwar in a contract killing.
They revealed they had been paid Rs 2 lakh by Tirumala Rao, a private NBFC manager in Kurnool, to carry out the murder. The killing reportedly took place inside the car, where Tejeshwar’s throat was slit before his body was dumped in the canal.
Twisted relationship web behind the crime
According to police, the murder stemmed from a complicated and disturbing relationship triangle. Tirumala Rao, who is married, was previously in a relationship with Sujatha, the victim’s mother-in-law, who worked as a sweeper in his office. Over time, Rao grew close to her daughter, Ishwarya, who married Tejeshwar on May 18.
Phone records show that after marriage, Ishwarya maintained frequent contact with Rao, reportedly making over 2,000 calls to him, while speaking to her husband only about 150 times. Investigators believe that differences between the newlyweds intensified when Tejeshwar discovered the nature of these communications.
Wife helped killers track husband’s location
The police also revealed that Ishwarya shared Tejeshwar’s live location with the killers on the day of the murder. She has since been arrested and is now in judicial custody along with the three killers and Tirumala Rao. Police said that all five have confessed to their roles in the conspiracy.
Marriage despite red flags
Tejeshwar and Ishwarya were initially scheduled to marry on February 13, but a week prior, she disappeared without informing her family. Although she returned on February 16, Tejeshwar’s family cancelled the wedding, upset with her sudden disappearance.
However, the couple rekindled their relationship and eventually married in May, reportedly against his parents’ wishes, though they reluctantly attended the ceremony.
Police are now examining whether others may have aided in the crime, or if financial or digital evidence could link more individuals to the plot. The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests not ruled out.
