Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police have booked YouTuber Anvesh for making false allegations against Telangana DGP and seven IAS officers in a Rs 300 crore betting scam.

Telangana Cybercrime Police have registered a case against YouTuber Anvesh, known for his channel `Naa Anveshana', following his recent video alleging a ₹300 crore embezzlement involving five IAS officers and the state’s Director General of Police (DGP).

In his video, Anvesh accused the officials of misappropriating funds through a betting app, claiming significant financial misconduct. The Cybercrime Police have deemed these allegations baseless and have initiated legal action against him for disseminating unverified information.

Anvesh has been making videos about the betting apps in the Telugu states, previously alleging that transactions worth ₹1,000 crore occurred through such platforms. He has also named several Tollywood actors and social media influencers, accusing them of promoting these apps and profiting from them.



According to the FIR, his YouTube ran a video on “Telangana DGP Metro Scam - 300 Kotlu Dochesaru” (URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG3d7Wgxafo ), which featured Telangana DGP Dr. Jitender's image in the thumbnail. In the video he makes several baseless and inflammatory allegations. The video falsely claims that “ DGP and 7 IAS officers made money through the betting scam.

The FIR stated that the accused uses defamatory content to attack and undermine the reputation of public officials, particularly law enforcement. It seems to have been made with the intention of provoking public unrest and creating confusion. The offensive nature of the video, published online, misrepresents facts and is meant to hurt the credibility of those in authority.

Such actions violate the law by spreading misleading and harmful material, which can lead to serious legal consequences. Initiate appropriate legal proceedings as per the law against the content creator, Anvesh & owner of the Prapancha Yatrikudu YouTube channel, the FIR said.
