Tribals in Andhra inspired by Sonu Sood built 4KM road, invite the actor

Vijayanagaram: Sonu Sood had tweeted about a group of villagers who had constructed a 4km road to their hilltop village. Now, the MLA of Salur and YSRCP leader, P. Rajanna Dora, has invited the actor to visit the tribal hamlet. The villagers have put up posters of Sood thanking him for his recognition.

The tribal villages of Salur had been begging the local government since 1947 to construct a road to their hilltop village. Fed up with the government apathy, the villagers contributed Rs. 2,000 each and collected nearly Rs. 20 lakh and constructed a road to their village. Sonu Sood had shared a picture of the road and tweeted, “This is history, I want the Nation to follow this new India.”

The MLA sent a letter to Sood saying he was extremely grateful for Sood's Twitter post about the tribes of Chintamala hilltop village of Kodama gram panchayat. The MLA welcomed Sood to visit the village and said, “I feel that Sonu Sood is greater than a great actor and a great leader with a good heart who cares for the poor and the needy.” Sood received the letter and replied, “I wanna come and see you guys soon. Let's plan. You all have created history.”

Speaking to NewsMeter, the MLA said, “What Sonu Sood said will not just inspire our village but it will inspire the whole nation. He is a celebrity yet he was able to address and talk about our small hamlet. I invite him to this region so that he can also see how the tribal people travel and live. We will welcome him with open arms. He is a real-life hero.”
