Trolley driver murdered in drunken brawl at Asif Nagar

Hyderabad: A trolley driver was brutally murdered allegedly by his friends in a drunken brawl at Asif Nagar in Hyderabad on Monday morning.

Identified a Sravan Kumar, he was beaten with hockey sticks after an argument broke out between friends after consuming alcohol.

Sravan’s mother told that he was driving a trolley owned by the accused’s family. As there was a wedding in their house, he was helping in making arrangements since Saturday night.

“He did not even come home. He was helping them in making some arrangements. Don’t know what happened suddenly, they killed my only son,” she said.

His younger sister said one of Sravan’s friends was also attacked, but he escaped. She said he came running with a bleeding hand and informed that her brother has collapsed outside. When she rushed, she found him gasping for breath.

“ I cried for help. I was urging them to at least call the police or the ambulance, but nobody came forward,” she said.

She said her brother and the accused were friends for a long time.

Asif Nagar police have registered a case of murder and started investigation.
