TRS Dy Mayor’s brother-in-law turns out to be super spreader, infects seven

Hyderabad: A brother-in-law of TRS Deputy Mayor has turned out to be a super spreader of COVID 19 in a municipality located on the city-outskirts.

Medical reports revealed that coronavirus infected TRS Deputy Mayor’s personal assistant and a close aide have now been tested positive.

Meanwhile, Telangana has crossed 4000 COVID positive cases ( minus cured/discharged). On June 10th, For another straight day the state reported eight COVID deaths and 191 new cases. The death toll in the state stands at 156.

Earlier, Deputy Mayor, his relative, two corporators and a husband of one of the corporators were tested COVID positive. However, with the new addition, the number has reached to 7.

Of the seven infected, five are admitted to different corporate hospitals in Hyderabad. As a precautionary measure, 23 other corporators have been tested and their reports have come back negative.

Inquiries revealed that the virus spreader turned out to be Deputy Mayor's brother-in-law, who is also a TRS party worker. All four were engaged in the distribution of raw-ration and also took part in the Telangana state formation day celebrations held on June 2.

A source told NewsMeter that the Deputy Mayor's sister is also a corporator and the family puts up in the same building. The virus spreader turned out to be her husband.

“It was after the state formation day celebrations, the man complained of fever and breathlessness. He approached a corporate hospital in Gachibowli. Initially, doctors said he was suffering from pneumonia. However, his COVID test reports came back positive,” he said.

Tests conducted on two other corporators and the Deputy Mayor turned out to be positive as well. The trio is admitted to a private hospital in Secunderabad.
