TRS MLA's wife, driver, gunman and cook test COVID +Ve

Hyderabad : Four primary contacts of coronavirus infected TRS MLA , have been tested COVID-19 positive on June 13^th. They include his wife, cook , driver and gunman. While the legislator is admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad, his primary contacts have been placed under home quarantine.

Speaking to media persons, the TRS MLA’s wife said, “Four of us, tested positive for COVID-19 were suffering with mild fever and body pains. However, our condition is stable and so is the MLA. The Telangana health officials are keeping a regular check on us. I see no threat”.

The infected TRS MLA’s marks the first case among Telangana’s legislators. According to sources, another four TRS MLAs have undergone testing and results are awaited

Speaking to NewsMeter, a senior Police said, “ The MLA last visited his constituency on June 2^nd for the state formation day celebration, however he returned to Hyderabad on the same day . The legislator could have contracted the virus in Hyderabad, because his constituency has not reported a single so far".

Meanwhile, Telangana records highest single-day spike with 253 cases. Two days back, Telangana has reported over 200 new COVID-19 cases in a single day; however, the number of cases on Saturday has surpassed the previous days’ number. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state has reached 4,737, out of which 4,288 are local cases, while 449 patients are migrants, deportees or foreign returnees.
