- Nod to get registered with Dental Council
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has gifted the best possible New Year present for all dentists based in the State.
According to its latest notification, dentists can register with Telangana Dental Council, unlike the present temporary registration they had with the Dental Tribunal. This was decided at the first meeting of Dental Council, which till date gave membership to only MBBS qualified doctors while dentists had to register themselves with only the Dental Council.
The Tribunal is based out of Government Dental Medical College and now will be relocated to Telangana Medical and Family Welfare Directorās office.
Telangana State has more than 10,00 dentists while the Tribunal has nearly 4,700 dentists. Henceforth, all of them will be brought under the purview of Dental Council.
As per the AP Reorganisation Act-2014, allocation of dentists should be 48:52 ratio to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
