TS entrance exams likely to have facial recognition system

This move has been in discussion and is most likely to be implemented as it will prevent impersonation, which is a bane of Indian education system.
Students will be allowed inside the examination hall only after they clear face and eyes scan. It is reported that discussions about putting in place the system talks are underway with Telangana State Technology Services limited (TSTS), although a final call is yet to be taken.
A similar initiative by way of facial recognition App was taken up in ten polling stations during the recent municipal elections in Kompally municipality of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The process is safe as the photograph taken to feed the App will not be stored or used in future thereby ruling out any replication.
A total of 7,007 people have cast their vote using the application. An officer at the polling booth holds a Smartphone to verify the identity of the voter. After scrutinizing ID details, the officer takes a photograph and uploads it to the server on which the facial recognition application is installed.
With success of application during elections, the move to introduce facial recognition for entrance exams will be a welcome one.
