TTD develops 5 varieties of Ayurvedic medicines to fight COVID-19
By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 April 2020 1:03 PM GMTTirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has prepared five Ayurvedic medicines to fight the Coronavirus which will initially be distributed to the TTD staff members.
The TTD’s SV Ayurveda Hospital and the Ayurveda pharmacy jointly produced five formulations of Ayurvedic drugs to fight the pandemic and released them on 8 April, on the occasion of World Health Day.
The medicines will first be distributed to the TTD canteen staff engaged in preparing thousands of food packets for people stranded in Tirupati city due to the lockdown. Later, free precautionary medicine will be provided to all TTD employees in all departments in phases.
Dr. Bhaskar Rao, the principal of SV Ayurveda College, and Dr. Narapu Reddy, pharmacy medical officer, on Wednesday provided the five varieties of medicines to 200 canteen staff. The medicine included Rakshogna Dhupam (protective disinfectant), Pavitra (hand cleaning sanitizers), Gandoopam (gargling liquid), Nimba Sasha (nasal drops), and Amruta (antibiotic tablets), which were prepared following the standards of the ministry of AYUSH.
In the first phase, the Ayurvedic medicines will be given to 1,000 canteen staff at Tiruchanoor on Thursday and to canteen employees at Sri Padmavathi College on Friday, Dr. Narappa Reddy said.
