TTD plans smart transportation to connect Tirumala with Tirupati
By Newsmeter Network Published on 15 Feb 2020 3:05 AM GMTTirumala: Exasperated by the frequent gridlocks, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has sought help from the Hyderabad Metro Railway for developing smart transportation system to rid the temple city of the recurring traffic mess.
Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam YV Subba Reddy met Managing Director (MD) of the Hyderabad Metro Railway NVS Reddy to discuss the issue. During the meeting, Reddy sought help from NVS for improving connectivity between Tirumala and Tirupati.
Both discussed the measures for ending frequent traffic congestion and creating a smart transportation system in order to put Tirumala Tirupati on the international tourism map.
TTD Chairman also sought ideas for improving connectivity from Tirupati Railway Station to Tirumala via Srivarimetlu. The duo also discussed measures for the beautification of Renigunta Airport and Tirupati city.
Reddy urged Metro Rail MD to cooperate with TTD for developing Tirupati-Tirumala as a world-class tourist destination.
On this occasion, Reddy said TTD has constructed Aswini Hospital in Tirumala at an estimated cost of Rs 4 Crore. He thanked Tata Trust for supporting TTD in constructing the hospital. He said patients need not travel to SVIMS anymore as they can now avail all medical facilities at Aswini Hospital.
