TV actress Kodapally Sravani ends life, family alleges harassment

Hyderabad: Noted television actress Kodapally Sravani allegedly ended her life at her residence in Madhura Nagar Hyderabad late on Tuesday night.
The body of the actress was found in the bathroom, police said. Her parents alleged that she was being harassed by Devaraju, whom the actress met over TikTok a few months.
Sravani is known for her roles in serials like Mounaragam, Manasu Mamatha, and several others telecasted on Telugu television.
According to police, Sravani, who was in her thirties, has been residing in an apartment along with her parents. A couple of years ago, she became friends with Devaraju from Kakinada, over TikTok. However, he allegedly started harassing her over petty issues.
On Tuesday night, she went into the bathroom and did not come out for a long time. Her parents knocked on the door but there was no response. They broke open the door with the help of neighbors and found her body in the bathroom. They rushed her to Yashoda hospital at Somajiguda, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Later her mother lodged a complaint with SR Nagar police station stating that Sravani took the extreme step because she was fed up with the harassment by Devaraju. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, police said.
