Two men arrested for tricking women into sex, looting ornaments in Vizag

Vizianagaram: In a different modus-operandi to fulfil their sexual bliss and get away with ornaments, two men from North Andhra were selectively victimizing women travelling in train through various plans. Based on the complaints from some of the women who became the victim, the Vizianagaram police on Wednesday arrested the two accused men on charges of looting gold ornament after drugging women.
The arrested have been identified as K Lakshmu Naidu (44) of Srikakulam and T Prasad, a native of Payakarapeta in Vizag district. The police recovered over 360 gms of gold jewellery from the duo.
According to the Vizianagaram Police Chief B Raja Kumari, Naidu and Prasad would travel in the buses and trains with a motive to befriend passengers, particularly women passengers, and collect their phone numbers.
In some cases, the duo used to offer woman passengers some biscuits and chocolates laced with sedatives and looted their gold ornaments once the passengers lost their senses.
While in different modus-operandi when they fail to drug and loot ornaments, the duo used to collect phone numbers and later invite the women for lunch or dinner in a hotel or lodge. They would give sedative - induced soft drinks to the women and have sex with them. After having sex with the women in a lodge room, they would leave the lodges with the ornaments of the victimised women.
Based on the series of complaints from the women, DSP of Central Crime Station, Vizianagaram, J Papa Rao formed a special team and kept a tab on the movements of the duo and detained them for questioning.
During questing Lakshmu Naidu and Prasad confessed their crimes and revealed that they looted over 500 gms of gold jewellery from women.
The police said that Lakshmu Naidu is a habitual offender and he had duped a good number of unemployed youth to the tune of Rs70 lakh by assuring them to provide employment in the Indian Army. There are about 13 cases against Lakshmu Naidu in various police stations limits in North Andhra Pradesh.
