Two patients,an oncologist from Banjara Hills hospital tested COVID +Ve
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 May 2020 4:24 AM GMTHyderabad: Two patients and a young oncologist working at a reputed corporate in Banjara Hills of Hyderabad have been tested positive for COVID-19. The three were shifted to Gandhi Hospital on May 25th.
The doctor was working in the COVID screening wing at the hospital, and specializes in cancer treatment. The oncologist was the primary contact of a patient who tested positive for the virus.
Inquiries revealed that, two weeks ago, a man in his late 60s from Kukatpally came to the hospital located at MLA hospital for the treatment of throat cancer. He was a regular patient and had come for a follow-up. During his stay at the hospital, the doctor had attended to him. Days after being discharged, the man tested positive.
As a part of the primary contact tracing, the doctor along with a few staff members of the hospital were advised to remain under home quarantine.
The oncologist, who noticed symptoms, sought medical help. His samples were sent for tests and the results came back positive. His family members, colleagues, and the support staff have now been shifted to a quarantine facility.
Meanwhile, among the three deaths reported on May 25th, is an elderly women and mother to Jiyaguda Pahalwan. The lady was tested positive five days ago and since then, she has been in a critical condition. She took her last breath on Monday.
