Two Telangana kids donate their piggy bank savings to CMRF

Hyderabad: Two school kids are melting hearts after they donated Rs 2500 from their pocket money for the coronavirus relief efforts.

Vicky, a 2nd standard and Nicky a 5th standard, donated Rs 2518 to Telangana Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The kids had saved the money in the piggybanks for several months. Sensing the mood of the nation, the kids donated the money to help the government in its fight against the pandemic.

"@KTR and @TelanganaCMO sir, I have sent a sum of Rs 2518 which my kids (Vicky and Nicky) 2nd & 5th standard had collected in their Kiddy banks as a contribution for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Telangana state," tweeted Marpally Sudhakar, father of two kids.



Hours later Sudhakar got a response from the Revenue department acknowledging the donation.

"I convey profuse thanks to you on behalf of the state government for your donation of Rs 2518/- towards Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Telangana state. Your kind gesture would go a long way in supplementing the efforts of the government in mitigating the suffering of the poor people who are distress,ā€ read the communication

The donation comes on the day when the number of positive cases reached 800 in the country. Covid positive cases in Telangana now stand at 59.

People from all over the country are doing their bit to help the government in its fight against the deadly virus. Tollywood actor Ram Charan donated Rs 70 lakhs each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Allu Arjun donated Rs 1.25 crore collectively to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala. All the members of YSRCP and TDP donated their one month salary.
