Two youth from Andhra die at Sunburn Goa

Panaji: Two friends from Andhra Pradesh died in Goa under unexplained circumstances while waiting to enter the Sunburn Klassique music festival venue on Friday.

The incident at Vagator occurred just after 2.30 pm when Sai Prasad and Venkat were standing in line at the venue of the popular Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival.

One youth started shivering at the entry gate and the other person immediately went to hold him so that he didn't fall. Two other partygoers came forward to help and took the youth to the nearby police outpost.

While the first person was being given the first aid at the police outpost, his friend started shivering. Cops called for an ambulance and shifted both to the district hospital at Mapusa where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Around 150 people were standing along with the two to party at Sunburn Klassique which started on Friday.

The Goa police have initiated an investigation and will await the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death. The autopsies will be carried out after the family members of the youths reach Goa.

The police said Sai Prasad and Venkat had arrived in Goa only to attend the EDM. The main gate of the Sunburn venue was not open when the incident took place.

A few years ago, 23-year-old Neha Bahuguna from Delhi and 27-year-old Isha Mantri from Mumbai had died during EDMs.
