University of Hyderabad announces phased return to academic activities

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) on Tuesday announced a phased return to academic activities due to nationwide Lockdown in view of Coronavirus pandemic. The university has rescheduled its nation-wide entrance examinations for admissions into postgraduate and research programmes in first week of August and revised its academic calendar for 2020-2021.

According to the Revised Calendar for current students, provisional results for final semester PG students will be declared on June 16,2020.

The classes for ongoing PG students start from July 12 onwards. The End-semester exams for ongoing PG students will is scheduled from August 3 onwards. The New semester classes for ongoing PG students is scheduled from August 12 onwards.

The deadline for submitting Application for fresh admissions is till May 22, 2020. The Entrance exams for admission to all PG and research programmes is scheduled in first week of August, 2020. The academic session for the newly admitted students will begin on September 1, 2020.

The University has made it optional for the final semester PG students to write a special end-semester examination only if they are not satisfied with their grades computed on the basis of continuous assessment and past performance. UoH has taken this decision after considering the recommendations of its internal committees and inputs received from heads and deans, as well as UGC guidelines.

The Optional Special End- Semester exams will be held from July 4 for those who opt for it and report to campus on July 1,2020. The University has also decided on a return to research work by its Ph.D. and M.Phil. students in a staggered manner, from June 15 to June 29, 2020.
