UoH extends last date of application for admissions to academic year 2020-21
By Newsmeter Network Published on 22 May 2020 10:00 AM GMTHyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has extended the last date of application for admissions for the academic year 2020-21 to 30 June in view of the COVID-19 situation in the country. Earlier, the last date for admissions was 22 May.

The Central university has increased the number of seats to 2,456 from last year's 2,170. The number of courses has been increased to 132 from 119. They include 16 integrated courses, 41 PG courses, 15 M.Phil, 10 M.Tech, and 46 Ph.D programmes. Around 38 centers have been established across the country for conducting the entrance examinations. However, the university will not conduct an entrance exam at those centers where the number of applicants is less than 200.
Among the new courses introduced for the new academic year, are M.A gender studies, MA communication (media studies), MA communication (media practice), M.Tech microelectronics and VLSI design (slow pace), M.Tech manufacturing science and engineering, Ph.D microbiology and M.Ed education.
The admission to MCA will be based on NIMCET scores conducted by NIT Common Entrance Test. The admission to eight M.Tech courses will be through the Centralized Counseling of M.Tech (CCMT) of GATE. Admission to the five-year Integrated M.Tech (computer science) will be through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) of JEE, while admission to MBA courses will be based on CAT scores. Admission to M.Sc biotechnology will be done through CEEB, conducted by JNU, New Delhi.
