UoH student lands Rs 43 lakh job at Adobe Systems

Hyderabad: A student from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) bagged a package of Rs 43 lakhs per anum during campus placements. According to the university administration, this is the highest package offered to any student in the history of UoH.

V. Nandini Soni, from the school of computer and information sciences at UoH, has been selected by Adobe Systems during campus placement. The placement conducted by Adobe Systems in coordination with Placement Guidance & Advisory Bureau (PGAB) was exclusively for women students as part of their Empowering Women @SheCodes. Nandini was selected among four other students who had been shortlisted for the final round.

Nandini is an alumnus of the Atomic Energy Central School (AECS), Boisar, Maharashtra. She graduated from St. Xaviers, Ahmedabad, and later joined UoH to pursue Masters in MCA. About her decision to study computer science she says, “I knew that I had to pursue my higher studies in computer science and so dropped the idea of pursuing engineering as I knew I couldn't do well in that field which prompted me to take up a course in computer applications."

She adds, “My team won the Smart India Hackathon, 2019, where I learned teamwork and real-life application development. I aim to be a proficient software developer. I, along with a few of my peers, have started a community in our department where we build projects and discuss various subjects.” She said her family, friends, and faculty members have always supported her which has led to her success.

Professor Rajeev Wankar, chairman of Placement Guidance and Advisory Bureau, said, “The PGAB team is doing a wonderful job and this is evident in the increase in the number of placements for students from all streams. This year more than 200 students have already been placed, which is very encouraging."
