UPSC postpones civil services preliminary exam, new dates to be announced on 20 May
By Newsmeter Network Published on 4 May 2020 4:05 PM GMTHyderabad: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), on 4 May, postponed the civil services preliminary exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The commission will announce the new exam schedule on 20 May. The examination was scheduled to be held on 31 May.
The UPSC conducted a special meeting on Monday to review the situation and decided that it was not possible to resume examinations and interviews in view of the lockdown. The schedule for the screening test for the Indian Forest Service Examination has also been postponed. The new schedule will be announced after reviewing the situation again on 20 May.
The commission has already postponed the personality test for the remaining candidates for the civil services examination 2019, notification for the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service examination 2020, notification for the Central Medical Services Examination 2020, notification for the Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2020, and NDA and Naval Academy Examination 2020.
UPSC will notify the new dates on its official website. The candidates will be given a notice of 30 days once the final schedule is fixed.
