V Hanumanth Rao files plaint against RSS’s chief Mohan Bhagwat
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Dec 2019 2:06 PM GMTSenior Congress leader Hanumanth Rao, December 30th lodged a complaint with LB Nagar police against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s comments concerning religion. The latter had said that irrespective of “religion and culture, people who have nationalistic spirit and respect Bharat’s culture and its heritage are Hindus. RSS considers the 130 crore people of the country as Hindus”.
Mohan Bhagwat made this comment at a public meeting organised as part of the three-day Vijaya Sankalp Sibiram of RSS workers from Telangana at the Indoor Stadium in Saroornagar.
Taking strong objection to the RSS Chief’s comments, former MP Hanumanth Rao stated that the remarks had hurt the sentiments and beliefs of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and Parsis. The Congress leader added that Bhagwat’s comments are also against the spirit and tenor of the Indian Constitution. Mr Rao noted that it will also lead to communal tensions among the public and could become a law and order problem in Hyderabad. ' Mohan Bhagwat's statement is also against the spirit and tenor of the constitution of India' the complainant said.
Terming Bhagwat’s remarks irresponsible, Hanumanth Rao appealed to the police to initiate action against the RSS Chief.
LB Nagar police officials have registered the case but no sections of IPC . Cops made a GD entry of the complaint and sent it for legal scrutiny.
