Valentine's Day vandalism: Cyberabad police arrests 5 Bajrang Dal activists

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Saturday arrested five persons associated with the Bajrang Dal group who resorted to vandalism and created havoc in the IT corridor at Madhapur and Gachibowli on the eve of Valentine's day on Friday.
The accused barged into several shops and malls and damaged property also. Two cases were registered against them at Madhapur and Gachibowli police stations, said DCP Madhapur A Venkateshwar Rao in an official release on Saturday.
The accused are Nangoth Ajay Singh,26, a Marketing executive from Moosapet, Vadthya Arjun, 23, a milk vendor from Kukatpally, Korra Santosh,25, a private company employee from Kukatpally, Gudupu Pavan Kumar, 24, a private employee from Balaji Nagar and Polari Tirupathi, 22 , a degree-holder from Moosapet.
Police said that on Friday, on the eve of Valentine's day celebration by the public, 10 to 15 activists of Bajrang dal moved in groups on bikes from KPHB towards Hi-tech City and vandalized an ice cream shop. They moved on the roads with flags raising slogans against the celebration of Valentine's day and created havoc on the malls such as ABN Sharat mall, Bikanerwala, In orbit mall etc in the areas of Gachibowli, Kothaguda, Madhapur. As soon as the police rushed to the spot near Inorbit mall, the accused escaped from the spot. Following this, the two above noted cases were registered on the complaint of shop owners at Madhapur Police Station and Gachibowli Police Station. The police with the help of CCTV footages identified the accused and apprehended the above five activists. They have been produced before the court for judicial remand.
Some more accused have also been identified as Subash, Kiran, Datta Sai, Sai Reddy, Venkat and others. Efforts are continued to arrest all of them, the police said.
