Of the seven people who were admitted to hospital after they were injured in a stampede-like situation at Gymkhana Grounds on 22 September, two were discharged and five are undergoing treatment as they suffered fractures and soft tissue injuries. They will be discharged after two days. Among the seven admitted to the hospital were two policemen who suffered fractures, while the other five suffered from fractures and soft tissue injury. Ranjitha (48) has blunt trauma in the chest; Adithyanath (23) fractured his left ankle; Aliya (19), trauma in the chest. Police constable Srikanth (36) had a nasal bone fracture and constable Srinath also had a fracture. They were injured when they tried to separate and dissuade the crowd. However, the crowd went berserk and they were caught unawares. The injured people said a stampede was the last thing they expected while buying tickets for a cricket match.
