Hyderabad E-Prix 2023: City comes alive for Indias first Formula E race
The first-ever Formula E race in India was held in a street circuit located at Hussainsagar in Hyderabad. Two-time Formula E world champion Jean-Eric Vergne, part of the American racing outfit DS Penske won Formula E 2023 Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix. Minister KTR gave away trophy for the winners.
Nick Cassidy of Envision Racing finished second (P2), and Antonio Felix Da Costa racing for TAG Heur Porsche stood in third place rounding the podium spots.
A total of 11 teams with 22 cars participated, including notable names like McLaren, Maserati, Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, and Mahindra Racing. The highlight of the event will be the introduction of the Gen3 Era Formula E car, which is known for its top speed of 322kmph and its status as the world’s fastest, lightest, most powerful, and most efficient electric race car.
