Vijay Deverakonda, Priyamani likely to act in 'Thalaivi'?

Actor Vijay Deverakonda is having quite a good number of films in his kitty and is quite busy too. As per latest reports, the youngster has been roped in to play a key role in Jayalalithaa’s biopic Thalaivi, which has been in news since the minute it was launched.

Reports say Vijay might play the role of yesteryear actor Sobhan Babu. The politician and Sobhan Babu were very close friends and had worked together for a good number of films. However, there is no official confirmation about it yet either from Vijay’s side or the makers. So we have to wait to get clarity on the speculations.

As per reports in media, the actor is currently in talks with the producers and is yet to sign the project. The film is being helmed by AL Vijay and will be releasing in Tamil and Hindi.

It was recently announced that Aravind Swami will be playing former Tamil Nadu chief minister MG Ramachandran and Prakash Raj will be playing Karunanidhi. The film has an ensemble cast and their characters are raising expectations on the film.

Kangana Ranaut is playing the titular role in this film and the actor has been prepping up for this role since some time. She has been learning Bharatnatyam for the role for the past couple of weeks. She also shared a few pictures and videos giving us a glimpse of her prep.

Recently, a glimpse of her character from the film was unveiled by the makers and Kangana has received both positive and negative comments from the netizens. The film is being directed by AL Vijay and will go on floors soon. It is slated for release on June 26, 2020. This film will be competing with a Nithya Menon movie which is also a biopic on Jayalalithaa

Did Priyamani bag the most important role in Thalaivi?

Actor Priyamani is currently busy shooting for her recent and popular web series The Family Man and its second season. The popular actor is seen playing Manoj Bajpayee’s wife in the web series.

As per latest reports, the Yamadonga actor has been roped in to play Sasikala in Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi, which is being directed by AL Vijay.

Sasikala was a close friend of Jayalalithaa and played a key role in the politician's life. Ever since the movie was announced, several people have been speculating about the actor who would play the former Tamil Nadu CM's close aide.

So now, the news that Priyamani is going to play Sasikala is doing rounds on social media. The National Award-winning actor is well aware of the interpersonal relationships of Jayalalithaa and Sasikala and would be a perfect choice to play the part.

The film is said to be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi and that’s the reason the makers have decided to rope in a heroine who has a pan-India image so that the audience would connect to her easily.

Sasikala’s role is going to be the key one in the film just like it was in Jayalalitha’s life. The character is going to be very challenging for Priyamani and it is said she was excited when the makers approached to play the role in the film which is being produced by Vishnu Induri and Shailesh R Singh.
