Vijayashanti is back on the silver screen to enthrall her fans

Hyderabad: It was in Naayudamma, a film released in 2006, where Vijayashanti was last seen. Post the film, the actress got busy with her career in politics and she never had time and interest to think about making a comeback to films. After 13 long years, she is back with Mahesh Babuā€™s Sarileru Nekevaru, which is slated for release on January 11.

In 1989, for Koduku Diddhina Kaapuram, the actress paired up with superstar Krishna and the film has Mahesh Babu as a child artiste. And now, after 30 long years, she is working with Mahesh once again. She has received an amazing welcome from fans all over for her comeback and even Telugu film industry has received her wholeheartedly.

Unlike many senior actors, Vijayashanti was not seen in public events or never shared anything about her personal life on social media. Her life was private and she chose it to be so. She never mixed up her professional and personal lives together. That is definitely one of the several reasons why many look up to her.

During those days, when heroes were the utmost importance and highest pay, Vijayashanti raised her voice against the pay disparity and demanded for equal pay. Also, she was the USP for many films back then. She even received a National Award for her performance in Karthavyam movie. She received seven Filmfare Awards and four Nandi Awards. In 2002, Tamil Nadu government honoured her with Kalaimamani Award too.

Vijayashanti is popularly known as Lady Amitabh and that is for a reason. She has done films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannanda and Hindi. Her performances, outspoken and hardworking nature, the courage to face anything anytime of the day and her progress in politics has earned her the name. All these qualities have made her a successful actress. Filmmakers, with many scripts have approached her, but finally, Anil Ravipudi has managed to rope her into Sarileru Nekevaru.

For one of his previous projects, Anil approached Vijayashanti with the script. But the senior actress was so busy that she couldnā€™t say ā€˜yesā€™ to him. But when Anil was ready with Sarileru Nekevaru and a powerful and strong role, no one other than Vijayashanti struck his mind. So to try his luck, he met her again and this time, he successfully impressed her with the character he wrote for her.

Telugu audiences are waiting to watch the actress on big screen and are counting days to get bowled over with her amazing and captivating screen presence. Those good old films and scenes she has been part of and the amazing dialogues she delivered are still fresh in the minds of her fans.

Now that she is back, a lot of filmmakers are busy penning down some scripts and roles that would suit her. But, it remains unclear whether she would want to continue her second innings or not.
