Vizag police nabbed criminal couple with the help of two-minute phone call

Suresh is involved in 20 cases in Vizag; Police officers appreciate constable Hussain for his help
Visakhapatnam: A two-minute phone conversation with an unknown person from Haridwar helped Vizag police nab the wanted criminal couple, P Suresh Kumar and P Bhulakshmi. Both Chennai and Vizag police had been looking for the criminal couple for the past year.
Suresh, a resident of Vizag city is involved in over 20 cases, including kidnap, rape, murder and a few other property offences. He escaped from police custody by attacking them when they were shifting him to Court from Central Prison in Vizag on September 12, 2017.
Later, the couple went to Chennai and murdered an aged couple at their farmhouse in Avadi on November 27, 2018. They had fled with over 800 gms of gold jewellery and some cash after killing their employers S Jegadeesan (67) and Vilasini (58).
Though Chennai and Vizag police visited and inspected Suresh’s parents’ house at Arilova in Vizag city, they failed to find any clues about the whereabouts of the criminal couple. A few weeks ago, Arilova police interrogated Suresh’s father, who confessed that he had received a two-minute phone call from a person who told him that Suresh was safe.
Inspector of Arilova Police Station, Kishore Kumar said that they spoke to Guntur Man, who said that he had met an autorickshaw driver at Haridwar and that he spoke in the Telugu language. The autorickshaw driver had given him a number and asked him to tell his father that he and his family were safe.
With the concrete information, an eight-member team comprising of Vizag and Chennai police had gone to Haridwar on October 3. One of our constables, Sk Hussain spotted Suresh Kumar, who was leading life as an autorickshaw driver in Haridwar. The police nabbed Suresh and later his wife Lakshmi, on October 5, said Kishore Kumar.
The criminal couple is now in judicial custody in Chennai. We will bring the couple to Vizag as they are involved in several cases in Vizag also, the police added. The Vizag police officers appreciated the efforts of constable Sk Hussain of Arilova police station for nabbing the wanted criminal couple.
