VRO invites farmer to barber shop to fix bribe deal; grabbed by ACB

Hyderabad: Talari Ramulu, a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) from Nawabpet Mandal in Vikarabad district, was found fixing a deal with a farmer inside a barbershop. A video, which has turned viral, shows the VRO demanding bribe of Rs 4,000 from a farmer to online process land documents.

On Monday, the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) laid a trap and caught the VRO from the barbershop. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the accused, and the chemical test proved positive that the officer had indeed accepted the bribe.

The accused officer has been arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.
