Warangal gets Cyient IT Campus, KTR vouches for betterment of Tier 2 cities

In Telangana, Warangal has emerged as the next destination for IT companies and the state government is ready to push all the tier 2 towns as IT hubs, said K Taraka Rama Rao, Minister for IT and Municipal Administration. He inaugurated work spaces of two IT companies Tech Mahindra and Cyient at the IT SEZ in Madikonda in the suburbs of Warangal on Tuesday(January 7).
Cyient, a global engineering and technology solutions company set up a state of the art Development Center in an area of 60,000 sq. ft. at the IT SEZ. The new facility can accommodate 600 Cyient engineers and the company is also constructing a second tower to accommodate additional 200 engineers. Tech Mahindra too, set up its work space in the IT incubation centre accommodating 100 employees.
Inaugurating the campus, KT Rama Rao said the coming of IT companies to the city sends out a signal that Warangal is ready to partner with companies like Cyient and support their engagements with customers around the world. āIt is just the beginning of the expansion of the IT industry in the state. Apart from Cyient and Tech Mahindra, more companies would soon follow and set up their operations in Warangal. The state government would always welcome and support these companies to expand their operations to all the tier 2 towns. There is no dearth of talent in Warangal which is also an education hub with 16 engineering colleges. Also, the National Institute of Technology is located here,ā KTR said.
Speaking on the occasion, BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder and Executive Chairman, Cyient said, āAs a prime mover in Warangal, it is a proud moment for Cyient to inaugurate Warangalās largest development center and partner in the growth story of this culturally rich city. The talent pool of Warangal will now have access to work opportunities with large, global customers. The addition of this center to Cyientās global operations will help spur the growth of its Communication business.ā
