Tirupati: From advanced cameras to immersive 3D maps, and from live dashboards to a dedicated technical team, Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy temple has rolled out India’s first AI-powered Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) to ensure pilgrim safety.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday inaugurated the AI-powered ICCC at the Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy temple. It is designed to enhance world-class pilgrim experience and temple governance.
Located at the Vaikuntham Queue Complex–I, the ICCC integrates advanced cameras, immersive 3D maps, and live dashboards monitored round-the-clock by a dedicated technical team. Built under a pro bono public–private model funded by NRIs, the facility is powered by AI, Digital Twin technology, and NVIDIA-backed infrastructure.
Scale of Technology
Over 6,000 AI-enabled cameras are deployed across Tirumala.
The system processes 3.6 lakh payloads every minute, analyzes 518 million events daily, and generates 2.5 billion inferences in real time.
The platform, developed by Silicon Valley-based Kloudspot Inc., provides predictive analytics, anomaly detection, cyber resilience, and misinformation defense.
Features of the ICCC
Crowd & Queue Management: Real-time density tracking, sarva darshanam wait-time prediction, and queue optimization from Alipiri onward.
Safety & Security: Facial recognition to trace missing persons, automated distress alerts, and 3D-guided evacuation routes.
Digital Twin Mapping: Interactive 3D visualization of congestion hotspots, accommodation status, and crowd flow.
Cyber Threat Monitoring: Unified dashboard to counter misinformation and protect TTD’s digital assets.
Operations Hub: A 24x7 control room with trained staff and coordinated escalation for faster response.
Vision & Origins
The concept was inspired by IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s visit to Silicon Valley in October 2024, where he engaged with startups working on AI, smart cities, and cybersecurity. Following his outreach, NRI philanthropists pooled resources and expertise to build a seva-first system with no commercial expectations, aligning technology with faith.
Impact on Pilgrims
For devotees, the ICCC promises shorter queues, smoother darshan, and quicker assistance. For staff and authorities, it ensures greater situational awareness, transparency, and efficient emergency response. Officials describe it as a global first at temple scale, uniting physical and cyber intelligence in one ecosystem.
Chief Minister Naidu said the initiative demonstrates how Sanātana Dharma’s values of seva can be amplified with frontier technology, making Tirumala a model for both faith and future.
With this launch, Tirumala positions itself as a global benchmark for safe, smart, and spiritually centered pilgrim management, balancing sanctity with intelligent systems for millions of devotees.
