Ananthagiri Hills set to become eco-tourism hub with nature retreats, exciting outdoor fun

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) is embarking on a journey to elevate Ananthagiri Hills into a premier eco-tourism hotspot.

Tucked away in the heart of stunning landscapes, Ananthagiri Hills has long been a beloved destination for those seeking serenity, adventure, and a rendezvous with nature. Nestled within Telangana, this picturesque hill station boasts ancient temples, cascading waterfalls, and exhilarating treks, making it a magnet for tourists.

Eco-friendly accommodation in the works

The TSTDC has allocated approximately 15 acres of vacant land within Ananthagiri Hills in Vikarabad, for the establishment of a luxurious, eco-friendly accommodation facility.

The government’s plan is to engage a competent entity to build a facility which includes a restaurant, a spacious banquet hall, and an array of adventure activities and camps that will add a new layer of excitement to the visitor’s experience.

The TSTDC plans to conduct a competitive bidding process to find the most suitable entity for the project.

The proposed development at Ananthagiri Hills includes a minimum of 50 luxurious eco-friendly tents, bubble dome tents, modern capsules, glamping pods, or wooden cottages. These accommodations will fall into the 3-Star or equivalent category, promising a comfortable and eco-conscious stay for visitors.

In addition to these unique accommodations, the project envisions a restaurant with a seating capacity of at least 100, providing a delightful culinary experience amidst nature’s beauty. The addition of a spacious banquet hall capable of hosting up to 500 guests further opens doors to destination weddings, corporate events, and grand celebrations.

Outdoor activities to entice thrill seekers

The government plans to make Ananthagiri Hills a hub for thrill-seekers with activities like hot air ballooning, paragliding, paramotor gliding, zip-lining, net walks, tree walks, bungee jumping, trampolining, rope cycling, and more. These experiences will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the natural splendour and unleash their inner adventurers.

The officials said that the project aims to transform this already enchanting destination into a top-tier eco-tourism hotspot, offering luxury, adventure, and natural beauty in one package.
