Indian govt plans to launch Goli Pop Soda and market it in USA, UK, Europe and Gulf countries

Hyderabad: Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has officially launched the international expansion of Goli Pop Soda, a modern revival of Indiaās traditional Goli Soda.
The beverage, once a staple in Indian households, has been rebranded and introduced to global markets, including the USA, UK, Europe, and Gulf countries.
APEDA, which plays a key role in promoting Indiaās agricultural and processed food exports, facilitated the productās launch and expansion efforts. Trial shipments have already received a strong response, signaling a promising future for the homegrown drink on the global stage.
Strategic Expansion into Global Markets
Goli Pop Soda has gained traction internationally through strategic partnerships and retail collaborations. In the Gulf region, a partnership with Fair Exports India has enabled steady supplies to Lulu Hypermarket, one of the largest retail chains in the region. Thousands of bottles have been stocked across Lulu outlets, with consumers responding positively to the nostalgic yet modernized beverage.
In the UK, Goli Pop Soda has quickly found a niche among consumers who appreciate traditional Indian flavors with a contemporary presentation. The drink has been positioned as both a cultural and culinary offering, appealing to a diverse audience.
To mark this international launch, APEDA supported a flag-off ceremony on February 4, 2025, organized by ABNN, highlighting Indiaās commitment to exporting high-quality, indigenous food and beverage products.
Reintroducing a Traditional Beverage with a Modern Twist
The revival of Goli Soda, which had faded due to competition from multinational beverage companies, is seen as a major step in promoting Indiaās unique food and beverage heritage. By blending nostalgia with modern branding, Goli Pop Soda brings back the experience of the traditional glass-bottle soda with a signature pop opener, designed to replicate the original fizzy burst.
Showcasing at International Food Events
As part of its global outreach, Goli Pop Soda was showcased at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) London 2025, held from March 17-19. The event, which brings together food and beverage businesses from around the world, provided a platform for Indian entrepreneurs and exporters to connect with international buyers.
